Youth Groups Rite 13 I
Rite 13 II J2A
These dynamic groups meet twice a month, usually on Sunday evenings. Their activities are designed to reinforce and enhance the
Journey To Adulthood curriculum. They organize and take part in activities that foster participation of the younger members of our congregation, including ice skating, trips to the movies, helping at
the soup kitchen, working at the food bank, and the annual Halloween sleep-over ("lock-in!") at the Episcopal Conference Center. The Senior Youth Group also hosts the annual
Pancake Supper and sponsors a booth at the annual Victorian Village Bazaar at Christmas time.
Coming Events Information on each of the events listed below will be posted on the Trinity Episcopal Church Online Calendar as it becomes available. All Youth Group activities are highlighted
in yellow on the calendar.
Journey To Adulthood Program
This six-year program for 11 to 17 year olds is one of the more exciting faith formation
programs for youth available today. It was developed to attract, instruct and nurture young people at the time in their lives when they are most likely to drift away from the Church.
This program includes in depth exploration of Self, Society, Sexuality, and Spirituality. It
is based on two key concepts: 1) Manhood and womanhood are gifts from God and 2) Adulthood must be earned.
The program is built around three distinct phases of development, each encompassing two years:
- Rite 13 (11 to 13 year olds) recognizes the passage from childhood to manhood and womanhood.
- Journey to Adulthood
(J2A) works with 14 to 15 year olds as they practice adulthood skills and positive life attitudes.
- The third segment, Young Adults in the Church (YAC), asks youth to assume the responsibilities of an adult.
This youth ministry program includes youth group meetings, movie nights, social ministry activities, liturgies, pilgrimages and more.
